Overview

This course is intended for field service engineers who have to install, configure or maintain the AlphaServer 8200, 8400, GS60 and GS140 Systems. The course is taught to field replacement unit level

Pre-requisties

Delegates should be trained Alpha Systems engineers, and to gain maximum benefit have experience of VAX/DEC 7000/10000. In addition SCSI configuration, basic UNIX and VMS skills would be advantageous, as would experience of DECEvent error reporting software

Objectives

On completion of this course delegates will be able to:

• Describe the TLSB and TLSB modules
• Identify and replace all Field Replaceable Units
• Upgrade console firmware
• Configure console parameters
• Determine DC bulk regulator requirements
• Be aware of implication of using Turbo Laser system in a Galaxy configuration
