Overview
This 1-day instructor-led howto…. training course is a combination of presentation and hands-on exercises to enable the delegate to properly implement and manage a Virtual Connect domain in a HP c-Class BladeSystem infrastructure.Lab exercises will provide valuable hands-on opportunities to implement and manage a Virtual Connect domain, including the configuration of Networks and SAN Fabrics and the creation and management of Server Profiles. HP’s new innovation “Flex-10” will also be discussed with relation to Virtual Connect.
Audience
This HOST designed course is intended for Partners, Users and Engineers who need the necessary skills and knowledge to properly implement and administer HP Virtual Connect in a HP c-Class BladeSystem environment
Pre-requisites
Whilst there are no formal pre-requisites, to gain the maximum benefit it would be beneficial if the delegate is familiar with the concept of virtualization in an IT environment, and has an appreciation of HP c-Class BladeSystem architecture.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course the delegate should be able to:
Explain the concept of Virtual Connect in a HP c-Class BladeSystem infrastructure
List the hardware and software components that make up the HP Virtual Connect portfolio
List the steps required to create and manage a Virtual Connect Domain
Understand the function of NPIV when connecting to a SAN fabric
Use HP Virtual Connect Manager to create a VC domain
Define LAN and SAN connectivity, and create Server Profiles
Migrate a Server profile from a failed Server to a spare
Understand the concept of HP’s VC Flex-10
