.Audience
This course is intended for first and second level support professionals who are responsible for servicing and supporting ProLiant ML/DL/SL and Blade Server products
Pre-requisites
- CompTIA Server+ certification and first or second line support experience
- ProLiant Server basics web-based course (70980)
- HP ProLiant Family web-based course (75981)
Objectives
Provides a foundation of knowledge that is common to both ProLiant ML/DL/SL Server and HP BladeSystem products. Describes service information resources and how to access them and provides an overview of the Systems Insight Manager and HP Troubleshooting methods. Assists in preparation for both the Accredited Platform Specialist (APS) certification exams; ProLiant ML/DL/SL servers and the HP BladeSystem. When used stand-alone as a text-based reference it also assists in preparation for the AIS certification without requiring an AIS candidate to attend APS Service training.
The APS is no longer a required pre-requisite for AIS accreditation. The Service Fundamentals can be used as a text-based reference for those who will pursue only an AIS accreditation.
The Accredited Platform Specialist is expected to be able to return the HP server or its components to their operational state as shipped from the factory. The HP server components must pass POST routines and be made available for software load. The APS certification level is not responsible for the initial software load but is responsible for driver loads/updates and ROM loads/updates. They are also expected to run any HP provided diagnostics for problem identification/isolation including System Insight Manager to view alert conditions and properly identify the affected sub-assembly and perform repair/replacement procedures
