Overview
Servicing ProLiant ML/DL/SL Server training focuses on using service information resources, utilities, and diagnostic tools to install, configure, troubleshoot and repair ML/DL/SL products. The student will become familiar with the technology, features, component layout, and service considerations for ML/DL/SL hardware as a foundation for the diagnostic process. Lab exercises provide the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience with ML/DL products and tools. Activities include server setup, use of utilities, and installing and configuring storage options.
Audience

This course is intended for first and second level support professionals who are responsible for servicing and supporting ProLiant ML/DL/SL Server products.

Learning Pre-requisites

Minimum of twelve months practical experience in server hardware service and maintenance

  • ProLiant Server Basics web-based training (00070980)
  • HP ProLiant Family web-based training  (00075981)
  • HP Service Fundamentals instructor-led or web-based training (00143086)
  • Certification Pre-requisites

    This course and it’s associated exam are part of the APS HP ProLiant ML/DL/SL Servers (2010) certification. Further 3rd party pre-requisites and/or HP training/exams are required to attain certification. Please contact Host for further details

    Objectives

    Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

    • Install and configure the server hardware and options

    • Use HP SmartStart or manual process to install an operating system

    • Use the HP Array Configuration Utility and HP Insight Diagnostics

    • Install and use System Management Homepage and Lights-Out remote management to access a server and event logs

    • Discuss storage technologies

    • Explain fault tolerance and redundant technologies that can be implemented to protect data and increase availability
