Overview

Integrating and Managing HP ProLiant ML/DL/SL Servers in the Enterprise training focuses on advanced topics such as scripting, performance tuning, advanced troubleshooting, virtualization and clustered environments. This class will focus on ProLiant ML/DL/SL solutions in the Enterprise and how these solutions address real problems that customers are facing today. Topics presentated include using customised scripts to automate infrastructure deployments and practices to migrate from one server platform to another.

Industry Standard Server channel partner integration specialists and customers

Learning Pre-requisites

Delegates should be familiar with the features used on the HP ProLiant range of servers and be conversant with Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008. A basic understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP would also be advantageous as well as an appreciation of PC Virtualisation such as VMware ESX and Microsoft Clustering principles.

Certification Pre-requisites

Course 143374 and its associated exam are part of HP ASE ProLiant ML/DL/SL Servers (2010) certification. Further 3rd party and/or HP pre-requisites are required to attain certification. Please contact Host for details.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students shiould be able to:

  • Install HP Insight Software
  • Install HP Insight Rapid Deployment software 3.83 (optional)
  • Deploy Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x86 using Scripting
  • Deploy Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x86 using Sysprep imaging
  • Deploy VMware ESX4
  • Use HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM)
  • Use HP Insight Virtual Machine Manager software
  • Perform Virtual-to-Physical migration using Insight Server Migration software for ProLiant
  • Use HP Power Regulator
  • Use HP Insight Vulnerability and Patch Manager
  • Use Microsoft Cluster Services
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Failover Cluster
  • Install VMware vCenter server
  • Configure VMware ESX HA and DRS Cluster
  • Troubleshoot HP SIM
