Overview

This course covers the core product from installation and configuration through to monitoring and managing, although the focus of the training is on the management of ProLiant and Blade servers, Insight Manager has the capability to work with a wide range of devices including Storage, Printers and Desktops

Audience

This training is intended for anyone who wishes to learn how exploit the capabilities of HP Insight Manager with a view to lowering cost of maintaining their IT infrastructure

Learning Pre-requisites

It is suggested that the attendee has experience of working in a server environment and has basic knowledge of the infrastructure components

Certification Pre-requisites

Course 96206 & the associated exam is an elective part of both ASE ProLiant ML/DL/SL Servers (2010) & BladeSystem (2009) certification. Further 3rd party/HP pre-requisites and HP training/exams are required to attain certification. Please contact Host for details.

Objectives

Upon completion of the course the students should be able to:

• Describe the relationship of HP Insight Manager to ICE
• Define usage scenarios for HP Insight Manager and the Plug in components
• Install the core product, HP Insight Manager 5.x
• Correctly configure WBEM, SSH and SSL
• Install and manage licences
• Create and manage user accounts
• Perform discovery and identification
• Create tasks to perform customised functions
• Perform remote update of PSP on multiple targets
• Compile and Import MIBs
• Use Performance Management Pack to troubleshoot performance issues
• Use Vulnerability and Patch Management to assist in implementing OS and application security patches
• Use the Blade system integrated manager to manage the HP blade infrastructure
• Troubleshoot issues relating to HP Insight Manager
